Happy Pride Month From Dexterous!

Pride Month is celebrated in June to commemorate the Stonewall riots of 1969 in New York City, which were a turning point in the LGBTQ+ rights movement. In the UK, Pride Month is celebrated in July to coincide with the anniversary of the Sexual Offences Act of 1967, which partially decriminalised homosexuality in England and Wales.

The first Pride march in the UK took place in London in July 1972, and it was organised by the Gay Liberation Front. Since then, Pride events have spread across the UK, with cities such as Manchester, Birmingham, and Brighton hosting their own Pride festivals.

Pride Month is a time to celebrate LGBTQ+ identities and raise awareness of the issues faced by the community. It’s also a time to reflect on the progress that has been made in terms of LGBTQ+ rights and the work that still needs to be done.

The theme of Pride Month in the UK for 2023 is “Together for Equality”. This theme reflects the importance of solidarity within the LGBTQ+ community and the need to work together to achieve equality for all.

At Dexterous, it is extremely important to us to celebrate Pride. We believe in equal rights for everybody, no matter what their sexuality is. Everyone should be able to live their life without being discriminated against!

In conclusion, Pride Month is an important event in the UK and around the world. It’s a time to celebrate LGBTQ+ identities, raise awareness of the issues faced by the community, and work towards a more equal and inclusive society.
